Hi Shelly. Please could you talk us through your background in Facilities Management and your current role at SBFM?
Hello! I’ve worked in Facilities Management for over 30 years. In that time, I’ve held a variety of operational management and directorate roles, and built-up a wide range of expertise across various sectors. I’ve been responsible for overseeing successful client partnerships, directing large scale mobilisations, promoting continuous improvement, and more.
As Business Unit Director for SBFM, I oversee all FM services within our corporate and professional services sector, ensuring we maintain the highest possible standards of cleanliness and presentation for our corporate clients.
What are your main responsibilities as Business Unit Director for Corporate & Professional Services?
My primary responsibility is ensuring our clients receive the exceptional standards of service that reflect the reputation and prestige of their workspaces. Successful partnership is key to delivering that. I work closely with our client senior leadership, facilities, and procurement teams to deliver a uniquely tailored service that consistently delivers the standards they expect and deserve for their offices and professional workspaces.
I’m also responsible for the management and development of our teams, ensuring they are equipped with the support and resource needed to deliver excellence. This includes overseeing recruitment, training, and performance management, making sure our teams are aligned with the company’s objectives and our clients’ expectations.
What are the key considerations within Corporate & Professional Services?
Office and professional workspaces must be not only clean, but immaculate. These environments are a reflection of the professionalism and excellence of the businesses that occupy them, so they must be pristine at all times. From reception areas where first impressions are made, to the offices, facilities, and meeting rooms, every area must be spotless for the buildings’ occupants and their guests.
A large consideration within this sector is the delivery of perfection without disruption. Corporate clients expect their facilities to be maintained to the highest standards, but they also want minimal interference to their employees’ working day. This is where our flexible and tailored approach comes in. We design bespoke cleaning schedules and services around our clients’ needs – whether it’s after-hours or discreet daytime cleaning, we ensure all environments are pristine and without disruption.
What sets SBFM apart in Corporate & Professional Services?
What sets SBFM apart is our relentless drive to excel in every single area of our business. We’re not content with accepting the norm and we always push ourselves to identify where we can go above and beyond, in any area. Whether it’s the way we engage and develop our people, our transparent approach to client partnership, or utilising tech to improve our services, we always approach everything with a unique mindset, constantly pushing boundaries to deliver exceptional results.
We constantly strive to be different, reimagining what can be achieved for our clients and driving ourselves to be the best in everything we do. It’s this focus on continuous improvement and excellence that makes us the partner of choice in the corporate and professional services sector.
What’s next for SBFM in Corporate & Professional Services?
The future is exciting for our Corporate & Professional Services division. We’re looking at expanding our partnerships with more leading businesses, and as always, our focus will remain on delivering pristine environments that reflect the prestige of our clients.
We’re also continuing to innovate by trialling new technologies that will allow us to deliver even more efficient, discreet services, ensuring offices remain spotless without disrupting the flow of work. These innovations will not only enhance service delivery but also strengthen our ability to meet and exceed our clients’ expectations. I’m looking forward to continuing to support our clients with the flawless environments they deserve.
Thank you, Shelly.
