Our recent SBFM Townhall was a fantastic reminder of the power of coming together as one team – to connect, celebrate successes, and look ahead to the opportunities shaping our future.
The event began with an update from our CEO, Matt Chapman, who set the scene by sharing the current market landscape and our key objectives for the months ahead. The Board later followed with insights into each department, highlighting progress, performance, and new projects on the horizon. Collaboration was a recurring theme – reinforcing how every part of the business contributes to our shared goals.
An Inspiring Guest Speaker
A true highlight of the day was welcoming Tim Campbell as our surprise guest speaker. Tim’s engaging and down-to-earth style made a huge impact on everyone in the room. Blending humour, personal stories, and practical lessons, he spoke passionately about culture, values, and the importance of creating opportunities for disadvantaged people – giving them purpose and the chance to build a better future.
His words perfectly echoed the heart of SBFM: making a real difference in people’s lives. He challenged us to think differently about strategy, adopt a growth mindset, and never underestimate the power of recognition. He also shared a refreshingly honest perspective on success – reminding us that while work–life balance is a choice, differentiation often requires resilience and sacrifice. And of course, we’ll all remember his advice on always minding our Ps and Qs!

As always, our colleagues took centre stage. We recognised the incredible efforts of our teams with a series of well-earned awards – celebrating individuals who go above and beyond to live our values and make an impact every day. Recognition is something we believe should never be taken for granted, and the Townhall was the perfect moment to shine a spotlight on those leading the way.
