One Metre for Every Life: 3.46 Million Metres Moved for Cancer Research UK
Last week, SBFM colleagues across the UK came together with one bold mission – to move 3 million metres in just 7 days in support of Cancer Research UK. We’re proud to say we didn’t just meet our goal… we exceeded it.
In just one week, our incredible team covered 3,463,000 metres through walking, running, rowing, cycling and daily movement – each metre representing one person currently living with cancer in the UK.
Turning Movement Into Meaning
The challenge was more than a fitness goal. Every metre moved symbolised a life touched by cancer – and every step, stroke, and stride helped raise funds and awareness for vital cancer research. With the help of our colleagues, clients, friends and supporters, we raised over £5,000 to support Cancer Research UK’s life-saving work.
From early morning gym sessions to lunchtime walks and team challenges at PureGym sites across the country, our colleagues fully embraced the spirit of the challenge. Some even wore their fitness gear all week to stay motivated – supported by bingo cards, personal pledges, and plenty of encouragement to keep the momentum going.
A Huge Thank You
We’re incredibly proud of what we achieved together. Thank you to everyone who donated and shared our cause, took part in the challenge and cheered us on from near or far. Together, we moved with purpose – and made every metre count.
Stay tuned for more photos and highlights from the week as we continue to find new ways to make an impact, support great causes, and bring our values to life through action.
